In August of 2020 I started sharing negative side effects of a popular diet on my instagram. Although my work has always been focused predominantly in the fashion space, I happen to simultaneously care about humanity. Ive always used my platform to speak on issues I feel are important, and certainly to amplify voices if they feel they arent being heard. It came to my attention that people had been getting sick, however, their complaints and concerns were being wiped from the internet faster than you could blink. So, in an effort to help these people find each other, and understand each others symptoms, I shared their stories online. What transpired following is something I couldnt have imagined in my wildest dreams. Not only has the company at fault taken 0 responsibility for their actions, but the founder has sued me, twice. In addition to the lawsuits, I have been cyber bullied and trolled in an inhumane fashion since I revealed these findings on my page. All of my brand partners have been viciously attacked online, in an effort, I suppose, to punish me for going against someone who loves to remind me, they are way richer than I will ever be. While that doesnt matter, my income and my ability to support my family is important to me and was not something I would ever sacrifice. I started both designing and sourcing products to sell direct to consumers on this platform so I could continue to make a living.
